Jallikattu - #SaveIndigenousBreed

390g hit a huge bump in the road and lots have changed since my last post everything is for Good!!!.

The topic this time is Jallikattu (#Jallikattu). which is an age-old traditional bull-taming sport conducted every year during the Pongal festival time... In simple words, it is a thanksgiving for the farmers and livestock. several animal welfare organization want to stop and ban this in the name of animal cruelty. A lot of talks that is not the only reason they want to stop the sport and it is directly related to the geo-economic conspiracy to stop the A2 milk production and sell artificial insemination for cows. I don't know about all those... But I Support Jallikattu( #ISupportJallikattu )  and the reason is simple Save Indigenous Breed.

I started supporting Jallikattu to show my support to save the very reason and thought, that protects the indigenous cattle breed #SaveIndigenousBreed. In case you were wondering we have so many recognized cattle breed just in Tamilnadu alone to name a few - pulikulam, bargur, thenni malai , kangayam… etc and there are few other, not named and not recognized country breeds. Stopping the very practice that encourages the people for the careful breeding of this livestock will endanger the breed. I Know some MORONS!!! will think this is cooked up reasons to start the protest for #Jallikattu… for those who don’t know and ignorant ( including me up until a few years ago…)… THIS HAPPENED BEFORE….!!!

Just in Tamilnadu alone we have and had so many dog breeds like Kombai, Rajapalayam, Kanni, Chippiparai, Ramnadu Dog, Alangu Mastiff … few( Kanni, Chippiparai, Rajapalayam ) of them are revived from extinct by the enthusiast and supporters… Alangu Mastiff is extinct… Ramnadu Dog the numbers are very few and It is impossible to find a Kombai with original traits… they are few revive foundation and social networking group started by the breed enthusiast to get the Kombai breed back… My Respect and Support for them #Salute…!!!.
One of the reasons that Kombai breed is endangered … of-course the import and introduction of dog breeds from other country which got lots of gravity from the people… but the reason that stopped the careful breeding is the ban for hunting in the late 80’s . do I support for the ban of hunting absolutely!!!... but what is getting affect by that and how do we stop that…? I am very sure lot of people might have raised their voice back then…thanks to social media we are hearing those voices for jallikattu now and have a chance to act!! … Back in the day, the hunters camp ground was the available chance for the careful breeding of Kombai with different bloodlines…so when the hunting is stopped…the Kombai owners did not have the opportunity to get the dog from different bloodline…and we are talking about 80’s here; reaching out and traveling was not easy !!!…So the motivation and opportunity for the careful breeding of the Kombai is faded away and lots of in-line the breeding spoiled the breed… Thank God!!! we don’t have slaughter house for dogs in India and neither exporting the dog meet. So though in-line breeding spoiled the breed there is hope that it can be revived….but when it comes to the cattle that’s not the case…. When you ban the practice that motivates the people to have the best possible Bulls … two decades from now KISS a Big Good F*** Good-Bye to the indigenous cattle breed #SaveIndigenousBreed …
I hate to see this happen ….do jallikattu needs to be regulated with rule??? … Yes!!! But can’t be stopped …. I Support Jallikattu!!!…#ISupportJallikattu
